Here for a weekend to celebrate my 70th birthday. It is a homely place with 4 letting rooms. Service by our hosts was first class and the food supplied superb. It is not really close to any major attractions but if you want somwhere to chill out this is the place.
Excellent place if you are looking for a stopping point. Very traditional and good food!

I booked a room at The Old Vicarage as I was working in Newtown for a few days. I was very pleasantly surprised at the high standards. Tim and Helen are wonderful hosts. The property is amazing, such beautiful views.The room was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed (apart from a table to work on but I could have gone down stairs). It was better than a lot of hotel rooms I've stayed in which sometimes cost twice as much! The bed was so comfortable - I had an excellent few nights sleep. The room had coffee and tea, with biscuits and chocolate as well as bottled water. TV in the room with more channels than I get at home.The breakfast was lovely, cereals, fruit, fresh fruit juice , filter coffee or team and a selection of hot food - scrambled eggs were delicious.I had my evening meal at the B&B - what a surprise that was! I was expecting a stew or Sheppard pie and got the most amazing 3 course meal - better than most restaurants I've eaten in - WOW! and such good value for money.All fresh local or homegrown food - the apple juice is amazing, fresh from a farm up the road! fresh homegrown early asparagus - their own eggs... I was in heaven... and the homemade jam is deliciousThey also have a license to server alchololI would most definitely stay here again
